Think Business Insurance Awards 2018

When great minds meet the result is bound to be spectacular, this year Think Business in partnership with the Association of Kenya Insurers (AKI) got together to host the 2018 Insurance Awards. They reached out to Onyx to ensure the event would celebrate the best in the association in pomp and glamor. To this end we crafted the stage and lighting design, the audio visual and incorporated the jazzy vibes of the Onyx band.

To build this setup, we created the slanted rafters stage wings, held in by the column truss that held the 60” LED screens that was completed by the event branding front and center. The band backline was setup well in advance and was tuned in by the musicians and DJs sound check before guest arrival.

The event comprising of two sections begun with a welcome reception that begun promptly at 6.00PM at the Radisson Blu ballroom, with guests streaming in anticipating a big win for the night. The cocktails and canapés were served over a background of smooth instrumentals. When it was time for the gala to begin, the doors were opened and the guests were welcomed by the tunes of the Onyx Band that wafted easily across the ballroom.

The gala event was a mix of a panel discussion, presentations and the nights climax the award ceremony. For the presentation and presentations we ensured that all the speakers were well audible as we mixed in the right amount of bass, treble and mid-range to suit each of the speakers’ voices. The presentations were projected on to the 60”LED screens to ensure the guests followed the informative presentations.

At last the moment that was long awaited arrived. The awards presentation were nothing short of spectacular as the DJ worked in tandem with the MC to build up the anticipation and celebration that followed with each announcement. The smiles all around told that story.
