10 Jul A Classic Affair- Stella & Sam
For this dynamic duo, it was all a matter of getting exactly what they wanted for their big day, which in their case was a classic, seamless and elegant affair. Sam was the hands on groom while Stella was the coordinated bride. To make their day come together, they settled for Live Sound services from Onyx Sound & Lights LTD with music from our resident DJs, Live Music entertainment from the Onyx Band and Professional MC Services.
On the material day, our team was onsite at Hillcrest International School the usual 2 hours pre-event for setup and sound check. Structured in three parts, the program consisted of the processional ceremony, the cocktail and the reception. After the reception was the evening party, but we will get to that later. Our DJ’s privded high end entertainment for this special occasion to the delight of the guests. We give credit to Sam & Stella who meticoulously populated the Onyx Even Prep form and ensured that every musical element was exactly what they wanted and that their guests could also enjoy their music selection. Guests were also able to request the songs they wanted played by the Dj and sung by the live band making the wedding even more enteraining.
For the cocktail session, we played smooth jazz tunes that allowed the guests to easily catch up after the ceremony as they transitioned to the reception area, our satellite Live Sound setup efficiently allowed us to manage both the cocktail and reception sections separately as guests filtered in from one section to the next. At the reception area the band played in a smooth crescendo as the guests dined and got ready to put on their dancing shoes. By the time the guests were done the band had hit fever pitch and the DJ now worked with the MC to keep the guests thoroughly entertained, informed and celebratory; we call it ‘the warm up’. By the time the bridal party arrived from their photo-shoot, it was time to get down, everyone from friends to aunties, cousins and yes… uncles too took time to get on the dance floor and show their their sleek dance moves.
After the reception the couple hosted 100 of their close friends and relatives for an evening party at the Nairobi Club, where we decked out the party mood with string and up lighting including our larger than life 100” screen, for the live video mixing and for showcasing photos through the wedding photo slideshow powered by Onyx. The party went on all night as we celebrated the newest couple in town.
